Alice and Gramps at the National Wildlife Visitors Center

Today…Friday, October 3…Stacy, Alice’s nurse and I took Alice for a picnic at the National Wildlife Visitors Center.  There are lakes, and birds (mostly geese at this time of year) and a big polar bear that always impresses Alice.  We had a lovely picnic on the board walk under the oak trees.  Then we went inside to see the exhibits.  Alice seemed to have a lovely time and actually smiled and made comments.

I was going through some of our old email, and in one of them you said, rather plaintively, “You are the only follower and I like a more direct connection between us” Aw, gee, I said to myself, I’m going to make a comment right now! So here I am.

    COMMENT:
I like that less happy picture of you. Not that I want you to be less happy, but it it shows a different side of you. Wait, I don’t mean you turn your back or moon me or anything. I should probably say, it shows a different aspect of you. I like the polar bear, too, although he looks stuffed. I guess he must be. If he was alive I’d be worried to see you stand in front of him like that. Sorry. I know I’m not usually this silly. Snort. Oops. I occasionally snort when I laugh.

Anyhoo, that’s about it for now. I am pleased with myself, however, because I have used the words “perfunctory” and “plaintively” today. I honestly think it is quite possible that I have never used them before, and yet today they tripped quite gracefully off my tongue. Well, fingers.

Maybe you feel a bit more happy right now. I hope so.
